Also make sure that your system has original operating system and you have installed anti-virus programme as well. Also make sure that the website through which you are transacting should have a URL starting with https. The more is the credit limit of your card the risk would be higher. You can lower the limit of your card depending on your expenses so that in case of any discrepancy or if your card is stolen or lost you will not have to bear so much loss.
Today you can also take insurance for credit cards. In case your card is stolen or lost or if the card is used without your knowledge then you can get insurance against such a situation. Also activate transaction alerts for your credit card purchases so that you are intimated about transactions through SMSes. If someone is using your card without your knowledge you will immediately come to know of the fraudulent transaction and you can take action. If you keep these few things in mind then you can have a smooth shopping experience with your credit card.
